Over the past few years, the issue of living wages has gained increasing attention among governments, policymakers, data providers, and NGOs.
Several investors have already taken a leading role through their involvement in the Platform Living Wage Financials (PLWF), yet the concept of living wages has not fully reached critical mass within the investment community.
Together with WageMap, and with support from Shift Project, we aim to make investor efforts on living wages not only more streamlined and comparable, but also more accessible.
Our hope is that this pamphlet will help lower some of the perceived barriers and complexity. While addressing living wages is undeniably a monumental challenge, using the concept—and engaging with companies on it—does not have to be complicated.
