On October 13th 2022, the PLWF hosted its fifth annual conference. Our members, together with industry experts and brands, discussed the PLWF’s 2022 assessment outcomes in today’s context and looked ahead to what is needed to further accelerate the living wage and living income agenda in the garment, agri-food, and food retail sectors. We were honoured to have Daniela Ortega from the Garment Workers Diaries as our key-note speaker. She inspired the audience with unique insights in the living conditions of Bangladeshi garment workers, reminding us that this is what our collaborative engagement efforts are all about.
The PLWF wants to thank everyone who joined us at ING’s premises in Amsterdam. Special gratitude goes out to our guest speakers of the day for their valued contributions: our key note speaker Daniela Ortega (Garment Workers Diaries); Jenny Holdcroft (Shift Project), Yuca Waarts (Wageningen Economic Research), Isa Miralles (FairFood) and Carla Romeu-Dalmau (IDH, Sustainable Trade Initiative) for the break-out session focused on agrifood and food retail sectors; and Stefan Seidel (Puma), Gulden Ulker (Fair Labor Association) and Anne van Lakerveld (Fair Wear Foundation) for presenting at the break-out for the garment and footwear sectors!
